Project Name:  Equipment Engineer LTE / UMTS

Project Description:  Network Implementation Engineer

Job Description:  Project leader for Mobility Provisioning Center (MPC) projects involving engineering, deployment configuration of core network elements: 3G (UMTS) & 2G(GSM) Mobility Switching Centers (MSC), Media Gateways, Mobile Service Nodes (MSN), Serving GPRS Support Nodes (SGSN) and Voice Messaging.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for management of provisioning team members, processes, documentation, customer/vendor communication, etc.
  • Responsible for the evaluation, procurement, design, technical specifications and support for Network equipment and storage capacity.
  • Analyze new business requirements and sizing telephony solutions to meet new requirements.
  • Develop project plans to move new requirements from planning stage to deployment and steady-state support.
  • Assist and provide guidance to the telephony support team when troubleshooting problems.
  • Work with steady-state support teams and providing guidance in the deployment of new solutions.
  • Integrate and troubleshoot new sites and carriers with field personnel.
  • Preferred experience in the Wireless Telecom industry & with large projects across multiple disciplines and on a national and/or international scale.
  • Knowledge of RF parameters and call flow is preferred.
  • Desired Knowledge of 2G/GSM wireless networks & telecom transport.
  • 3-5 years experience in management and implementation of Projects.
  • MS Office suite, advanced Excel skills (advanced formulas, macros, tables etc.) preferred.

Additional Information:

  • Responsible for the evaluation, procurement, design, technical specifications and support for Network equipment and storage capacity.
  • Ordering, tracking and reporting on equipment for various projects and programs.
  • Working with Supply Chain Management to procure equipment.
  • Identifies and tracks equipment deficiencies and designs / implements rearrangements and improvements.
  • Plans, organizes and functions as equipment SME for equipment selection and on-site installations.
  • Interfaces with process engineering and maintenance to develop and support new processes and applications.
  • Plans and designs layout, equipment selection, HVAC and power requirements, etc. (Scoping).
  • Determines equipment required for storage capacity needs.
  • Liaison for hardware, facility vendors and product evaluation.
  • Nature of Contribution- Fully functioning technical professional.
  • Knowledge - Subject matter expert within own discipline/ specialty area.
  • Applies specialized knowledge of discipline/specialty area standards and processes to work.
  • Integrates company experience and deep technical knowledge and has advanced understanding of select client technologies, systems and/or procedures.

Additional Requirements:
  • 5-8 years of experience
  • Fully proficient and can solve complex problems in the area of inventory control, inventory management and forecasting, etc).
  • Fully proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, manipulating data, etc.), Word, etc.
  • Proficiency with inventory control databases, project management tools (CASPR)
  • Bachelors' degree in Math, Science or Engineering preferred or equivalent related network
  • Familiar with Ericsson cell site equipment


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Bachelors' degree preferred
  • PMP Certification is a plus

Shift Hours:
8am - 5pm

Pay Rate:
$20.28 - $25.28/hr; DOE
